A strike photograph taken by the 498th Bombardment Squadron, 345th Bombardment Group, documenting bomb damage to an industrial facility at Byoritsu, Formosa (present-day Taiwan). Photographs like this one were used by intelligence officers to assess mission effectiveness during the 345th's sustained air campaign against Japanese-held industrial and transportation targets in the closing year of the Pacific war.
