This envelope, postmarked April 1946 through APO 468, carried a letter from PFC Ross Moon of the 11th Airborne Division's Headquarters Company to Marianne Sammet in Richmond, California. By this date the division was stationed in Japan on occupation duty, and mail like this sustained personal connections between servicemen overseas and loved ones at home in the months following the end of World War II.
