This photograph from the Pat McAleer collection shows a row of SBD Dauntless dive bombers parked on a Pacific airfield flight line during World War II. The Dauntless played a pivotal role in the Pacific War, most famously at the Battle of Midway, and remained a mainstay of Navy and Marine Corps dive-bombing squadrons through much of the conflict.
