The aircraft's wingtip is visible at lower left. Photographs like this one were often taken informally by aircrew of the 3rd Tactical Fighter Wing, then flying combat missions from Bien Hoa Air Base, documenting the terrain over which they operated during the early escalation of American involvement in the war.
