Gallery: LETTER 13
Letter No. 13, written to his mother on August 15, 1918, in which Pvt. Willis W. Wagener describes blistered feet from road-building work with the A.E.F. Engineers in France. He notes the growing swarm of aircraft overhead and the improvised comforts of billet life — scavenged bedding, and civilians beginning to return to their villages.
