Bancroft Korean War collection document patrol and weather observation flights over Korea, the 1952 loss of an aircraft off the Korean coast, and the condolence letters sent to grieving families. Later correspondence from 1999 and a 2008 Defense Department report trace decades of searching by relatives and veterans for crewmen never recovered.
