Three handwritten letters from Pvt. Willis W. Wagener of Co. B, 1st Gas Regiment, Chemical Warfare Service, written home from France in the final weeks of the First World War. Writing from Vichy on November 1, 1918, he describes recovering from illness, evening walks through a curfewed town, pay and service stripes, and news of Turkey's surrender.
