A December 1952 San Francisco Examiner clipping reports the loss of ten U.S. Navy flyers when their PBM patrol bomber crashed off the coast of Korea. Among the dead was Lt. (jg) Wayne Eugene Bancroft of Alameda, California, survived by his wife Olga and young daughter Barbara.
