This photograph from the 345th Bomber Group's WWII photo album shows an airman in flight coveralls standing before stacks of aerial bombs staged on ordnance trailers at Ie Shima, the group's forward airbase in the Ryukyu Islands. Such scenes of bomb loading and staging were part of daily operations as the 345th flew B-25 Mitchell missions against Japan in the final months of the war. Project: 218227
