The North American F-107A was an experimental supersonic fighter-bomber built in the 1950s to compete with the F-105 Thunderchief. Distinguished by its unusual dorsal air intake, only three prototypes were produced before the program was cancelled; this aircraft, serial 55120, is shown during a test flight over the mountainous terrain typical of Southern California flight test ranges.
