This factory photograph documents final assembly of a Douglas Model 7B, the earliest production version of the twin-engine attack bomber that would become famous as the A-20 Havoc. Built originally to fill a French export order before Pearl Harbor, the 7B featured a solid, gun-armed nose for the low-level attack role. The red-and-white striped rudders date this image to the final years before the United States entered World War II, capturing the rapid expansion of American aircraft manufacturing on the eve of global conflict.
