The Aero Spacelines 'Pregnant Guppy,' registration N1024V, was the original member of the famous Guppy family of outsized cargo aircraft. Built from a modified Boeing 377 Stratocruiser airframe, its enormous bulbous fuselage allowed it to transport Saturn rocket stages and other oversized space hardware for NASA's Apollo program, a task no conventional aircraft of the era could accomplish.
