The North American XP-82 Twin Mustang, seen here in a 1945 test flight over Southern California, joined two P-51 Mustang fuselages to create a very-long-range escort fighter for the Pacific bombing campaign. Serial number 44-83887 identifies this aircraft as the second of two XP-82 prototypes built. Project: 218191
