This album page from the Edward P. McAleer collection preserves three wartime snapshots: a Pacific pineapple harvest, a jeep at a sandbagged beach position, and Marine aviator Jerry Miller of VMF-112, photographed at Santa Barbara, California in 1944. A handwritten note records that Miller was later killed in action during the Korean War in 1951, connecting a training-era portrait to the pilot's ultimate fate. Project: 218137
