This page from Lt. Darryl E. Bancroft's personal flight logbook records training flights in the SNJ-5 advanced trainer in August 1950, at the very outset of the Korean War. The SNJ, the U.S. Navy's version of the North American T-6 Texan, was the standard aircraft used to prepare naval aviators in instrument flying, formation work, and carrier qualification before they advanced to fleet combat aircraft.
