Pages from The Auctioneer, the 1944 base newspaper of Yuma Army Air Field, mix promotion rosters and Military Police features with pin-ups, Milton Caniff cartoons, aircraft recognition drills and a hypnotist's turn at the Service Club. One surviving copy, addressed home to New York, shows how such papers carried a training base to the American doorstep.
