Inscribed Bronze Temple Bell at a Burmese Pagoda, CBI Theater, WWII Era
A large bronze temple bell, inscribed with Burmese script and crowned with an ornate finial of guardian figures, photographed at a pagoda in Burma during World War II. Images such as this were captured by Allied servicemembers stationed in the China-Burma-India Theater, documenting the religious architecture and folklore of the region while supporting the campaign against Japanese forces along the Burma Road.
