This 1942 U.S. Navy Training School recognition card taught trainees to identify the C-47/R4D Skytrain, one of the most vital Allied transport aircraft of World War II. Used by both the Army and Navy for cargo, troop transport, glider towing, and paratroop drops, the Skytrain (known to the RAF as the Dakota) became a workhorse of Allied logistics in every theater of the war.
