This photograph, part of the WWII-era Kotec China-Burma-India collection, shows Western travelers and local attendants aboard a traditional houseboat in Kashmir. Kashmir's Dal Lake houseboats served as a popular rest-and-recreation destination for Allied personnel and civilians stationed in the CBI theater during World War II. Project: 218051
