Naval Aviator's Flight Log Book, FG-1D Corsair Camera Gunnery Entry, October 1948
This page from naval aviator Pat McAleer's personal flight log book records a camera gunnery training flight flown October 24, 1948, in an FG-1D Corsair (Bureau No. 76553). Camera gunnery exercises used gun-mounted cameras instead of live ammunition to record and score simulated aerial combat, a standard peacetime training practice for fighter pilots flying the same Corsair type that would soon see heavy action in the Korean War.
