This 1903 illustrated envelope, mailed by Modesto school superintendent J.A. Wagener to his wife while traveling in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, doubles as an advertisement for the Modesto-Turlock Irrigation Districts and the Tuolumne River diverting dam. Preserved within the family's later WWI correspondence archive, it offers a rare early glimpse into the household of Pvt. Willis W.
